It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Ada Nancy Giusti who died peacefully on August 31, surrounded by her loving family after a 22-year battle with breast cancer. She was the beloved daughter of the late Jorge Reategui and Ada (Huaman) Reategui, Born on April 9, 1952, in Lima, Perú, Ada grew up in Lima where she met her husband, Augusto Rolando Giusti, whom she knew for 55 years and was married for 41. They moved to the United States for a better life for their families as well as their children and resided in Newtown since 2000.

Ada was a devoted mother to daughter, Vanessa Giusti (38) and son, Gabriel Giusti (34), her pride and joy. Her children meant everything to her and they both felt this with all the love and support she provided to them. She was a grandmother to Gabriel’s daughter, Maria Lucia Giusti (4) who she adored with all of her heart. Ada is also survived by her loving siblings, Betzabé Reàtegui (Lima, Perú), Alberto Reàtegui (Burke, Va.) and Raúl Reàtegiu (Lima, Perú) who will never forget the love and laughter she brought to their lives, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Ada was proud to have completed her associate’s degree in liberal arts and sciences from Naugatuck Valley Community College and was recently working in medical records and transportation for Civita Care Center in Danbury for 14 years. She was a dedicated employee who went above and beyond for her co-workers and the patients at the center. She shared beautiful memories while working there and established many wonderful friendships.

Those that were fortunate to know Ada are aware of her beautiful smile and laughter. She had a glow about her that would brighten up a room. She was also extremely thoughtful and cared so much for her family and friends. Ada’s fashion sense was out of this world. She loved to wear her beautiful dresses, color-coordinated clothes, jewelry, make-up and matching purses. Ada loved to sing as though no one could hear her, dance as though no one was watching, and her energy and presence was contagious to all those around her. She will be missed dearly but has taught us a valuable lesson to keep your spirit lifted, stay positive and continue to fight no matter what challenges come our way. She did this till the end and we will forever be grateful to have had an angel on our side all these years who will now watch us and protect us from above.

Visitation will be held at Honan Funeral Home in Newtown on Saturday, September 14, from 11 am to 1 pm with a service to follow. All family and friends are welcome.
