Charles Kaiser
SOUTHBURY — Charles James “Jim” Kaiser of Southbury, husband of Barbara Ribeiro Kaiser, passed away on August 28 at Danbury Hospital with his wife by his side. He was the son of the late George W. Kaiser and Rose A. Burroughs.
Jim was born in Mt. Kisco, N.Y., on July 9, 1940, and grew up in Ridgefield, on the family poultry farm “Kaiser Poultry Farm” on Barry Avenue. He graduated from Ridgefield High School and joined the United States Air Force in 1958, where he fueled jets until 1963. He met his lifelong sweetheart in 1964 and they were married in 1966. They bought a house in New Fairfield, where they raised their three children.
Jim worked in the oil industry, most recently as owner/manager of Holcomb Fuel in Newtown until 2007. He and his wife retired and moved to Heritage Village in Southbury, where he resided until his death.
Jim loved gardening, golfing, the NY Giants, and spending time with his beloved family. He most recently worked part-time with his daughter, Anne, at Gainsfield Farms Golf Course, maintaining the beautiful flowers along the course, helping in the office as needed, and helping with the kids’ summer league. His passing has left a hole in our hearts and we miss him terribly.
