Christopher Haggerty, 62, passed away August 19 at the Regional Hospice Facility in Danbury, surrounded by family. Christopher was the son of Robert and Grace Haggerty. Christopher attended Newtown schools and had a long career with Deloitte LLC Services in IT.

On June 1, 1986, Chris married the love of his life, Elaine Haggerty. Chris and Elaine raised their family in New Milford before moving to Woodbury.

Chris recently became a very proud grandpa to his grandson, Grayson, whom he loved dearly. Chris was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and person, who appreciated all that life had to offer.

He was a hard worker and loved family vacations in Outer Banks, N.C. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed his time spent with family and his black labs. He was the life of the party and always enjoyed a good time.

Chris is survived by his sons, Gregory Russo (Alexis), Cory Haggerty (Heather), and the apple of his eye, grandson, Grayson Christopher Haggerty. Chris is also survived by siblings Diane (Bill) Rein, Laura (Dave) Martell, and Robert (Gisele) Haggerty; in-laws Bill Woodin of New Milford, Diane Miller (Joe) of Bethel, Betty Lee of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Kathy Zadora of Waterbury, Richard (Sharon) Woodin, of Murrells Inlet, S.C., and Sherry Ludovicy of New Milford; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Chris will be sorely missed, but never forgotten by his family and friends. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation in Chris’ memory to Regional Hospice. More information can be found at regionalhospicect.org

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown, on Wednesday, August 28, at 10:30 am. To leave an online condolence, please visit honanFH.com.
