Margaret Maryanne (Marge) Piazza, 89 of Sandy Hook, passed away on July 14, 2024, due to injuries received from a fire in her home.

Marge was born in Jersey City, N.J., on November 1, 1934, to Michael “Max” and Grace (Lombardo) Stone. She grew up in the Bronx, N.Y., where she eventually met her late husband Francis “Frank” Walter Piazza. Marge and Frank were married in 1955 and moved to Buena Park, California, where they started their family. They had four children, Michael, Laura, Maria and Tony (deceased). Once their family was established, they moved back to the East Coast and eventually landed in Sandy Hook, where they met new friends and made their favorite memories.

Marge was a communicant of St Rose of Lima Church and taught religious education classes there. She worked at Planter’s Choice Nursery in Newtown for a few years and retired as a bookkeeper for Center Auto in Stratford.

Marge was a family woman, everything she did was for her family. She loved to cook, host and laugh. Anyone who knew Marge knows have comical and witty she could be. She loved going on walks, having her friends over for coffee and crumb cake, playing cards and working in her garden. Her weaknesses were Hallmark movies and sweet treats.

Marge is survived by her children, Michael Piazza, Laura De Stefano, and Maria Piazza. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Piazza, Chad Piazza, Gracee Piazza, and Anthony Piazza; and a great grandson, Frank M. Piazza.

Marge will be truly missed by all, and she will live in our hearts and always loved.

Come celebrate her life with us if you knew and loved her. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown, on Friday, September 13, at 10:30 am.
