Diane Marie Stolfi Baker passed away on June 5, 2024, at the age of 82.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Raymond E. Baker and by her parents Frank and Helen Stolfi.

She was the devoted mother of Andrea Baker, Raymond F. Baker (Kathy), and Mark Baker (Erin), and the cherished grandmother of Raymond Thomas Baker.

Diane was born on October 28, 1941, in Waterbury. She grew up in New York City, where she attended St Vincent Ferrer High School and the Wood School and began her career as an executive assistant. After raising her children in Newtown, she continued her career at Danbury Printing, Danbury Savings & Loan, and Perkin-Elmer.

Diane was a member of St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown and helped start the St Rose cheerleading program. She was an involved parent and grandparent, attending countless sporting events and special occasions, and serving as a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. She was an avid fan of the Mets and Jets, Fordham and St John’s universities, and Immaculate High School.

Diane lived life with style, with grace, with kindness, and with joy. Whether cooking meals for family, playing cards or mahjong with friends, or making sure that special occasions were extra special, Diane had a warm laugh and an infectious smile that made anyone feel welcomed and everyone feel loved.

She will forever be missed.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to the St Francis Breadline (stfrancisbreadline.org) or to St Vincent Ferrer High School, Finance Office, 151 E 65 St, New York NY 10065 (In Memory of Diane Marie Stolfi Baker ‘59).

Visitation will take place on Friday, July 12, from 5 to 8 pm, at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street in Newtown. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 am Saturday, July 13, in St Rose of Lima Church, 46 Church Hill Road in Newtown. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
