To the Editor:

When this country was founded, all agreed the administration of justice needed to be fair to all, effectively blind to an individual’s circumstances, including political persuasion. This agreement held for 200+ years, was fraying around the edges for many years, but was just torn asunder by the sham trial in New York City. The verdicts, no doubt, will be overturned either by an appeals court in extreme leftist New York state or the Federal courts, in my nonlawyer opinion, but the damage to our legal and political systems may be irreversible without a major soul-searching by the leaders of the Democratic party.

A simple comparison of the Trump years to Biden’s shows the Democrats are losing on inflation (19% increase in prices under Biden, 7% under Trump). They’re losing on energy prices (gas was under $2/gallon under Trump). They’re losing on skyrocketed housing prices, rent and interest rates (remember when people could afford to buy their first home?). They’re losing because of neglect of the southern border and its consequent spiking effect on crime and security risks with downward pressure on wages. Multiple wars have broken out during this administration to say nothing of the disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan leaving Americans, Afghan allies and 80 billion of military equipment behind!

So how do the Democrats counter the public’s antipathy to their policies? They use lawfare to distract and derail President Biden’s primary opponent, former president Donald Trump. These are the same goals as those of the Russian Hoax and the illegitimate Jan 6 committee which only included Republicans approved by Nancy Pelosi and did not include a minority counsel, ie no cross examination of witnesses. They choose a sham trial where even after the verdicts the felony is unclear (as per attorney Alan Dershhowitz)! It doesn’t matter if the verdicts are eventually overturned, so long as the Democrats can call Trump a convicted felon up to the election!

Here is a partial list of the facts, with the first three emphasized by Democratic law professor Jonathan Turley, that will lead to an eventual overturning of this jury’s conclusions:

*The judge’s daughter has been paid thousands of dollars for her service to Democratic politicians yet the judge did not recuse, flagrantly violating a New York state statute.

*It was claimed the misdemeanor affected the 2016 election and was contorted into 34 federal felonies that cannot be charged in a state court.

*The judge, in his instructions to the jury, said the jurors did not have to agree which federal law was broken and their decision did not have to be unanimous.

*There can be no coordination between the state and the Biden administration, yet the #3 attorney at the Biden DOJ took a demotion to work for DA Alvin Bragg and gave the opening statement at the trial!

*The invalid federal felonies tripled the length of the expired two-year statute of limitations for the original misdemeanor, to over six years.

Destroying the integrity of the judicial system will not “save Democracy.”
