James P. Zuklie, formerly of Newtown, died March 2, 2024 at his home in Habersham County, Ga., after a long illness. His wife, Beverly De Vingo, and his daughter were at his side.

Jim was born in Scranton, Penn., on May 5, 1938. For many years, Jim was employed by CarTech in Bridgeport. He was also involved in real estate until he retired to Georgia.

He helped found the Clarkesville (GA) Soup Kitchen and was a volunteer there and on the board till he passed. Jim volunteered for the Humane Society and provided fostering care for many needy dogs. Jim was a kind and caring man.

Jim is terribly missed by his wife, three children and five grandchildren who all adored “Opah.” His passing is a great loss to us who loved him so much.
