The Newtown United Methodist Church (NUMC) Mission & Outreach Committee is inviting readers to their spring fundraising event, the Second Annual Afternoon Tea.

This year’s event is planned for Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 2:30 pm, in Rauner Hall of the church, 92 Church Hill Road in Sandy Hook.

Tickets are $15 and limited to 50 guests.

There will be servings of four different types of tea sandwiches, including gourmet egg salad and the traditional cucumber sandwich. Several different homemade desserts will be presented as well as all the tea a guest can drink.

Background music performed by John Voket will accompany the social experience.

Proceeds will benefit multiple organizations sponsored each year by the host committee.
