How long have you lived in Newtown? All my life, 20 years.

Job: I’m a barista at Cosmic Coffeehouse.

What do you like to do with your free time? I do music stuff. It started with Cooper McLaughlin, who threw a show last May in his front yard in Sandy Hook, and a bunch of people showed up. From there he found Amy [Mangold] at Parks & Rec, who let him organize and play shows at the Teen Center and donate part of the proceeds to Parks & Rec. We did a few shows last summer and early autumn, and had fun organizing them. I have a friend who has a good audio system — he’s Quasi Audio — so he let me borrow some of the equipment and it was phenomenal. He helps us put on shows now, and I find people to play, some of my favorite artists that are more local, and we have two more coming up.

Who or what has been the greatest influence on your life? The people I’ve met over time, like friends. I’ve had so many friends over time and they’ve worn off on me. I take from experiences and the time with them. I take stuff from that and kind of move forward.

Favorite movie genre? Psychological horror films.

Favorite musicians? Pale Waves. I really like them. I also really like Enya, and ‘Til Tuesday.

What is the greatest piece of advice you have ever been given? Something I look back on a lot is what my mom used to say: Things always work out in the end.

Do you have any pet peeves? Places with too many rules.

Favorite color? Green.

What is something you cannot live without? Music.

What is your favorite travel destination? I haven’t been but I want to go to Japan.

What is your favorite part about Newtown? I love this town. It just seems like, in the most positive way possible, it’s in its own little bubble, and I like that. It’s this little peaceful town — not quite what it was when I was a kid, because it’s a little more built up now, unfortunately — but it’s still very quiet, and peaceful.
