The second installment of a recent feature about a proposed statewide probate court overhaul contained several incorrect inferences that Probate Judge Richard Lightfoot directly communicated his ideas on the matter to State Probate Administrative Judge James Lawlor. Judge Lightfoot subsequently clarified that he communicated his thoughts to Judge Lawlor indirectly through a side-by-side, point/counterpoint editorial in another Connecticut newspaper.

In the same story, The Bee indicated that, historically, there have less than 100 appeals to more than 80,000 probate decrees. In fact, there were less than 100 appeals to the 80,000 probate decrees delivered in 2003.
