Real Food CT Announces First Two 2024 Events
Real Food CT (RFCT), the 501(c)(3) nonprofit in southern Newtown founded on the belief that everyone deserves access to healthy food, has announced its first two public events of the new year.
The Grow Your Garden Event is planned for Saturday May 4, from 10 am until 2 pm, at Sticks ‘N Stones Farm, 171 Huntingtown Road.
Readers are invited to celebrate spring gardening, learning tips from experts. Featured guests will include Nigel Palmer, author of The Regenerative Grower’s Guide to Garden Amendments; and Park City Harvest Co-Founders Shawn Joseph and Richard Myers, authors of Grow to Eat, Grow to Heal, and Harvest Heroes.
RFCT Founder Sean Fitzpatrick and master gardener Nancy Zychek will also offer their expert advice to home gardeners.
The event will also feature a seedling sale, vendors, food, and music.
Real Food CT’s Annual Seed to Plate Fundraiser is being planned for Friday, August 9, from 6 to 9 pm, at NewSylum Brewing Company, 36 Keating Farms Avenue.
A team of talented chefs will offer up the bounty of local farms for a unique and unforgettable dining experience. Organizers are excited to welcome back Steve Forgione of Phinney’s, Pam Buchler of Aquarian Caterers, Matt Kirshner of Uncle Matt’s Cafe, and Genee Habansky of Herbaceous Catering. Amber Anchor will return to provide music for the event.
Tickets and additional information for each of these events will be announced closer to each date. Until then, visit realfoodct.org information about RFCT’s ongoing efforts.
