Pamela (Frankemolle) Wilson, 71, wife of Donald Wilson, died Tuesday, January 2, at home as the result of a fall.

A 33-year resident of Newtown after starting married life in Ridgefield, she and Donald moved to the lake community of Plymouth, Conn., five years ago.

Pamela was born December 4, 1952, in Mineola, N.Y., a daughter of the late John and Patricia (DeKnight) Frankemolle. Besides her husband, Pamela is survived by her son, Sean Wilson; her sisters, Alice Weigers of Long Island, and Linda Frankemolle of Wilton; and several nieces and nephews.

Pamela was a lifelong creator, educator, epicurean and adventurer. Prior to her retirement, she taught art in the New Canaan School System. Her creations — paintings, ceramics, jewelry and needleworks — are owned and treasured by many.

As reflected in many of her artworks, Pamela had a special love for places on the water, including Asharoken, L.I., where she grew up; Prince Edward Island, and Block Island. In Plymouth she created a number of murals around the lake and in the community.

Pamela was also a passionate and successful gardener. While in Newtown she was actively involved volunteering at the Victory Garden.

Pamela was a gourmet cook and legendary hostess, for many years with Donald holding annual Robert Burns Suppers for friends and family. When she delved into winemaking, her early effort with red wine blends won a Gold Award, much to the shock of long established winemakers. Her cooking and art classes for adults created lifetime skills and memories, and long-term friendships.

A celebration of her life will be held later in the year, around the lake.
