Newtown High School’s gymnastics team is ready to compete on the floor, vault, bars, and balance beam. Newtown has a young team with just one senior and a wealth of freshmen newcomers and sophomores in the fold.

Coach Kim Kane’s Hawks will compete with senior Nicole Gutrie, junior Kelsey Brennan, sophomore Isabella Muzzio-Martins, and freshmen Sadie Boyajian, Camila Collesian, Eva Fenaroli, Aliyah Reuther, and Brianna Schoffstall.

The winter campaign begins with a Friday, January 12, visit to New Milford to take on the host Green Wave along with Brookfield, Joel Barlow of Redding, and Nonnewaug of Woodbury, at 6:30 pm.

The Nighthawks will be at Newtown Gymnastics Academy Monday, January 15, when Brookfield and New Milford visit at 10 am. Other teams on the slate are Oxford and Pomperaug of Southbury. The South-West Conference Championships are set to take place in New Milford on Friday, February 9, at 5 pm.
