RIDGEFIELD — Readers are invited to make Keeler Tavern Museum & History Center (KTM&HC) part of their weekend with the center’s free monthly program for all ages, First Sunday, on January 7. Fun activities will be presented in the Garden House from 1 to 4 pm.

This month, it’s all about hand-sewing. Visitors will make their own stuffed animals and try their hand at embroidery — perfect for beginners and those with more experience.

KTM&HC education staff will provide supplies and guidance, as well as highlight examples of historic hand-sewn items in our collections. Activities in the Garden House will also include watercolor painting overlooking the gardens and plenty of children’s books.

Registration is not required for the drop-in event. Visitors should simply check in at the Garden House to get started. The property is at 152 Main Street/Route 35 in Ridgefield.

Those planning to visit should note the museum is closed through February. Tours will not be offered at the January and February First Sundays.
