Snapshot: Tina Keeler
Family: Me and my boys, Michael and Stephen.
Any pets? We have a basset hound named Daisy.
How long have you lived in Newtown? 35 years. Lifetime resident. I moved away for four years but came back to take care of my dad.
Job: I work for Global, at the full-service station on Church Hill Road. I love my job. Being back here after 16 years and seeing some of the same people, the familiar faces from before, is awesome. I wouldn’t want to work for anybody else. I left after I became pregnant with my first son, and I’ve been back a year and a half.
What’s the biggest change with the job between then and now? Honestly, nothing. There really hasn’t been much of a change. It’s still the same old loving place.
What was the most recent movie you saw in the theater? Cocaine Bear, with my kids. It was a very interesting movie. After they had learned all about it they begged me to take them.
Favorite music genre? I love country music. I go to every country concert that comes to Connecticut.
What do you enjoy doing in your free time? Honestly, I just enjoy spending time with my kids. We like to hang out and play card games or watch movies together.
Who or what has been the greatest influence in your life? My dad. He passed away in December 2020, and he was the best.
What is something you can’t leave home without? My phone. It’s my lifeline. It’s the only way my kids can get a hold of me.
What do you like about Newtown? I grew up in Newtown, I love this town tremendously. It’s more of a city now than it was when I was growing up, but I love the people, and I love the atmosphere. I wouldn’t change anything about it.
What would you like to see covered in The Newtown Bee? Maybe more articles on surrounding towns, Bethel or Redding, just keeping us all in the loop of what’s happening.
Do you have a personal credo? Let them.
