Rotary Pancake Breakfast Returning, December 2 At Edmond Town Hall
The Newtown Rotary is holding its 63rd Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, December 2, from 8 am to noon.
After a few years away the club is also returning to the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.
The long-standing tradition has marked the unofficial beginning of the holiday season in Newtown for decades. The event brings together families from across town to share friendship and festive tidings, while eating some of the best homemade pancakes the town has to offer.
Guests also enjoy entertainment with dance recitals by students of Newtown Centre of Classical Ballet and Voice, Lathrop School of Dance, and perhaps even a visit from Santa Claus himself.
The all-you-can-eat breakfast is $10 for adults and $5 for children. The menu includes homemade pancakes cooked up by members of the Rotary Club, Butcher’s Best famous sausages, award-winning syrup from Maple Craft Foods, freshly roasted coffee from BD Provisions, and milk, juices, and hot chocolate.
Tickets will be available at the door. They can also be ordered online through NewtownCTRotary.org.
It is not only the fellowship and nourishment that make this event so unique, but also that every dollar raised goes to support the needs of the community. Through fundraisers like this, Newtown Rotary Club supports Newtown Scholarship Association, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, C.H. Booth Library, Newtown Youth & Family Services, Dorothy Day Hospitality House, The Center for Empowerment and Education in Danbury, Regional Hospice, and many more.
As part of its international service, the club raises money to help fund lifesaving heart operations for children with congenital heart disease in developing countries through the Rotary’s Gift of Life International and under its own “Newtown Gift of Life Challenge.” Funds raised by the club have helped save the lives of well over 200 children.
