Jack Pavao
John (Jack) Edward Pavao, 81, of Newtown, passed away on Saturday, November 4th.
Jack was born on May 9th, 1942, to Antone Pavao and Emma Brown in Danbury Hospital.
After Jack graduated from Henry Abbott Tech in 1960, he served time as a cook in the Army.
When Jack returned home, he was hired by Steiner Inc, where he happily remained until his retirement in 2007.
Jack was a long-time member of The United Methodist Church of Danbury, Conn. There, he was the Head Usher of the congregation for many years. Jack loved being part of and giving his time to the church community. More than anything, he adored his family and animals.
Every Sunday, after church, Jack looked forward to Sunday dinner with family. Over the years, he loved to share stories of his family and friends with others. Jack was an avid sports fan who followed his teams to the end. He enjoyed being outside, working on his flowers, and mowing his lawn.
Jack was a generous, kindhearted soul who never forgot to take good care of the critters that lived in his own backyard. He would give a helping hand to anyone who needed it.
John was predeceased by his father, Atone Pavao, mother, Emma Brown, and sister, June Elizabeth Pavao. He is survived by several nieces and nephews: Laura Bjorklund, Robert Bjorklund, Kevin Kennedy, Nancy Kennedy, Theresa Luallen, Robert McInerney, Roberta Mateer, Joe Gargon, as well as several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be held at The United Methodist Church on Saturday, November 11, at 11 am.
