To the Editor:

Election Day, Nov 7th is fast approaching. I’m running as an Independent for one of the two vacancy seats on the Board of Education. I hope you, as a Bee reader, have gotten a chance to get to know me, through The Bee articles and my Profile, my introduction letter and letters of endorsement. You can even watch the PTA BOE Forum by going to the Newtown Education Supporters Facebook page. I’ve tried to share as much information on my background, why I’m running, and who I am.

Now it’s your turn to decide which candidates to support. I hope you have gotten to know something about the candidates, especially for the Board of Education, which oversees the Newtown School System. Each candidate is different, and the members of the Board of Education represent you. Your vote counts! In the past some elections have been won or lost by one vote, so your vote really counts.

Polls open early and close late to make voting convenient and easy. You can still get an absentee ballot by going to the Town Clerks’ office. It’s open this Saturday from 9 am to noon to make it even more convenient.

Polling places are as follows and you can find your voting location by going to newtown-ct.gov/registrar-voters.

Head O’Meadow School will no longer serve as a local polling location.

Districts 1-6 and 1-7 will vote at Newtown Middle School.

District 2-6 will vote at Newtown High School in the front cafeteria.

District 3-6 will vote at Reed Intermediate School.

Let’s make Democracy work for Newtown.

Independent? BoE credibility is already gone. Thank you.
