Newtown Forest Association (NFA) extends an invitation to all who are interested in touring the area around Deep Brook Farm to join members on Saturday, November 4, at 11 am.

Those who would like to participate should meet at the old barns located at 32 Deep Brook Road. NFA members will begin by sharing some information and history of the amazing property. This will be followed by walking the dirt roads and viewing the meadows that characterize the property.

The walk will end on Valley View Road with a sweeping view of the entire area.

Coffee, cider and donuts will be served.

Reservations are requested for food planning, and in the event of inclement weather; visit newtownforestassociation.org.

NFA is fundraising for the purchase and preservation of Deep Brook Farm, 63 acres of bucolic, pastoral open space in the heart of Newtown. The parcel has the potential for high-density development near the Borough, which will be followed by the permanent loss of multiple nearby dirt roads, increased impact on the nearby Deep Brook watershed, and an increase in education and other tax burdens for Newtown residents.

Preservation of Deep Brook Farm under NFA will mitigate all of these potential outcomes. The association is calling on the public to help make the preservation happen. The acquisition is the focal point of NFA’s 2023 annual appeal.

To contribute to the preservation of Deep Brook Farm visit newtownforestassociation.org, click on the green Donate button near the upper right corner, then select Deep Brook Farm under the Choose a Campaign option.

Anyone interested in learning more about the property or making a refundable donation restricted to this campaign is invited to contact NFA Executive Director Trent McCann at trent.mccann@newtownforestassociation.org. All other donations made through this campaign will go directly into our land acquisition fund.

Newtown Forest Association is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organization and the oldest private land trust in the state of Connecticut.
