To the Editor:

I write to express my support for Alison Plante, candidate for the Board of Education. Alison and I have been colleagues for over a decade, during which I have witnessed her deftly handle a variety of challenging situations.

Alison is smart, collaborative, and an exceptional problem-solver. She is able to have difficult conversations and to hold people accountable, all while maintaining professionalism and composure.

A mother of three, Alison is deeply invested in our town. In Alison’s relatively short time on the Board of Education she has had great impact, as she quickly became the chair of multiple committees and worked through some of the board’s most contentious issues.

Newtown would continue to benefit greatly from having someone with Alison’s breadth of professional experience and commitment to our community serving on the Board of Education.
