All Town of Newtown offices will be closed on Monday, October 9, in observance of Indigenous Peoples Day (formerly Columbus Day). Town boards and commissions will not meet October 9.

Newtown Senior Center and C.H. Booth Library also will be closed.

The transfer station on Ethan Allen Road will be closed. (The transfer station is regularly closed to the public on Mondays. It will not be open on Columbus Day for commercial service.)

The United States Postal Service will not deliver mail on Monday.

The office of The Newtown Bee will be open.
