Sadly, the two day 2023 Newtown Arts Festival, set for this past weekend, had to be cancelled because of impending weather that could have caused dangerous situations. Ahead of the bad weather, we were able to have the Friday night concert.

In the 11-year history of the Festival, which is sponsored by the Newtown Cultural Arts Commission, this is the first time that we have encountered weather bad enough for us to change our plans.

Even with that cancellation, so many people worked so hard for the Festival. We thank the volunteers who helped set up for the Festival and our Friday night concert, the Town of Newtown, Public Works Department and Parks and Recreation. And we thank our sponsors, who have stood by us. And The Newtown Bee for their support.

So, we will stand up, brush ourselves off and get back to planning the 2024 Newtown Arts Festival, set for September 13-15, 2024. Check out Newtownartsfestival.com for information on the 2024 Festival.
