Members of Newtown United Methodist Church are very happy to announce they will present a full Spaghetti Supper in the church’s Fellowship Hall this weekend. This will be the first full dinner since the COVID-19 pandemic.

The event will also honor and celebrate the memory of Roger Sprung, an American Banjo Museum Hall of Fame inductee who lived for decades with his family in Newtown.

All are invited to enjoy dinner, whether dining in the hall or, if they prefer, through curbside pickup.

Dinner is planned for Saturday, September 30, from 4 to 7 pm, at 92 Church Hill Road.

Cost is $16 for adults, $15 ages 62 and above, and $8 for ages 12 and under, for the full dinner to include spaghetti or zoodles with choice of sauce (marinara, meat, spicy), garlic bread, garden salad, fruit salad, and dessert.

Gluten-free meals are available for an additional $1 each, and large meatballs or sausage links are also available for $1 each.

Live After-Dinner Music

Returning to the tradition of an NUMC Coffee House following dinner, organizers have also announced live music will be performed Saturday night.

Roger Sprung, who performed during NUMC Coffee House events for more than 25 years, will be honored and celebrated after dinner. RJ Storm & The Old School Bluegrass Band will fill the hall with music, with guests encouraged to enjoy coffee and desserts.

Admission to the coffee house is $5 for those arriving between 7:30 and 9 pm, or $4 for those who are already at the hall for the dinner.

Reservations are not needed for the coffee house.

Donations for FAITH Food Pantry are encouraged on September 30, also to celebrate the memory of Sprung.
