Sandy Hook Fire Lieutenant Archie Paloian carries a bucket of Speedi-Dri toward a line of the absorbent already on the road. Firefighters put down soaker pads and booms in addition to Speedi-Dri to soak up leaking fuel after a tandem FedEx truck went off I-84 West around 8 am Friday, August 18. The cab and front trailer went off the highway and crashed onto Center Street in Sandy Hook, while the rear trailer disconnected and remained on the highway overpass. Sandy Hook firefighters, Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Newtown Police, CT State Police and DEEP representatives all responded to the crash. The truck driver, Agron Jahja, 51, of North Grafton, Mass., was apparently uninjured. He was issued an infraction for traveling too fast for conditions and failure to maintain a lane.    —Bee Photo, Hicks
