Crevier Celebrating Publication Of Second Book Of Poetry
Nancy K. Crevier is pleased to announce the publication of her second book of poetry, Pieces of the World and other poems.
The simplicity of nature and the complexity of human nature come together in Pieces of the World. What is seen, heard, and felt in the inner and outer worlds is captured in verse, and provides a place for readers to insert themselves in an easy manner.
The world is as beautiful and troublesome as the people who inhabit it: hope resides with fear; love with hate; life with death in these poems that grasp at the ethereal and real. These are poems that invite wonder, that invite wondering with words and images that, piece by piece, pull together a sense of being in this lifetime.
Crevier will present a reading and book signing at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street, at 2 pm, Thursday, September 21. The reading is open to the public. Reservations are requested and can be done by calling the senior center at 203-270-4310.
While copies of Pieces of the World and other poems will not be available for purchase that day, the book or e-book can be ordered at amazon.com, or purchased at Queen Street Gifts in Newtown.
“I’m hoping readers will be as receptive to this second collection as they were to the first,” said Crevier, a Newtown resident and retired editor of The Newtown Bee. “Writing poetry is always a pleasant surprise to me. I think there is something relatable in these verses to capture the attention on several levels.”
Crevier previously published The Peach Quartet and Other Poems in 2022.
