Hate Has No Home Here*

How it is so easy to come together and decide as a community that Newtown is not the place for a gargantuan truck stop, but when it comes to condemning hate in all forms, we have people on the fence?

The recent cowardly act of hate against Trinity Church was the message they wanted to send. And that message is that the church is welcome but people who support LGBTQIA+ people are not.

People who tell their stories of experiencing hate and bigotry in this town or on their person or property tell their stories and are met with dismissal. “Race cards” and “woke mobs.” Aggressors cosplay as victims.

Trinity Church maintains that its doors are open to all and I’m positive that also includes the closed minds that did this.

There’s no town without flaws and that goes for people.

Hate has no home here but it’s setting up camp…

Do better Newtown.

We shouldn’t be surprised that Racism has reared its ugly head here in Newtown, as it has elsewhere. We need to keep vigilant and when it raises its head beat it down. Say something, read the history and make a pledge to speak up when racism presents itself. This Is not just happening somewhere else, it happens and it’s happening in Newtown.
