At 3:46 pm June 6, Newtown Hook & Ladder, Sandy Hook Volunteer Fire and Rescue, and Botsford Fire Rescue responded to a hazardous materials spill call at Aqua Environmental, 56 Church Hill Road, staging some apparatus at Newtown Cleaners next door. Newtown Volunteer Ambulance, mutual aid medical responders, and the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) also responded. Two people had possible minor injuries from an acid spill.
