Edmond Town Hall, the historic theater and movie house located at 45 Main Street, is sharing the finalized schedule for the 2023 summer drive-in.

The Edmond team first conceptualized the drive-in as an alternative to the theater’s standard indoor movie screenings in June 2020, at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. Although intended as a temporary, one-time movie-viewing adaptation, Edmond’s drive-in quickly became known as an exciting and unique experience for all ages. Uniting the greater Newtown community through nostalgic summer fun, the drive-in was an experience to remember.

Eleven films will be featured during the summer of 2023.

Running from June 15 until August 27, the outdoor movies will again be projected onto the back of the 1930 Georgian-style building, with space for cars to park along the freshly paved upper, rear lot. The film each week will have a three- or four-day run, scheduled around events in the building.

The 2023 season has been announced as follows: June 15-18, Grease; June 22-23 and 25, E.T., The Extra-Terrestrial; June 29-July 2, Toy Story; July 6-9, Minions: The Rise of Gru; July 13-14 and 16, Jaws; July 20, 22-23, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off; July 27-30, Monsters, Inc; August 3-4 and 6, The Muppet Movie; August 10-13, Back to The Future; August 17-18 and 20, Up; and August 24-25 and 27, Caddy Shack.

The parking lot will open at 8:30 pm to allow staff to direct traffic and coordinate parking. On-site concessions will be available for purchase.

All movies begin at dusk, approximately 9 pm.

Tickets are $25 per carload and may be purchased in-person or online at edmondtownhall.org.

Around Town Real Estate will be the Title Sponsor of the 2023 Summer Drive In.

“As the title sponsor for this year’s drive-in movie series, we at Around Town Real Estate are thrilled to be part of Newtown Edmond Town Hall’s legacy, creating new memories and bringing the community together, said Around Town Real Estate Managing Broker Andy Sachs. “With each movie under the stars, we hope that for a brief moment in time our neighbors and friends can be transported away by the magic of the big screen.”
