To the Editor:

There has been a lot of commentary recently that specifically calls out the individual Board of Education members.

Newtown has continued to be a place I am proud to live, due in a large part to the people who dedicate their time to making it that way. I have always been impressed with the quality of the volunteers that help Newtown operate.

I have worked with Deborra Zukowski on town boards over the years and Deborra is one of the smartest, fair-minded, logical, and hard working people I know. No matter where your opinion lies on individual issues, I know we are very lucky to have Ms Zukowski as the Chair of the Board of Education.

Especially at this time.
