Kathleen Mary Wlasuk, age 60 of Newtown, passed away peacefully April 23, 2023.

Services are being held at Dodgingtown Volunteer Fire House in the upstairs hall on April 29, from 11 am to noon, followed by a celebration of life with food and drinks so everyone can share their best memories of Kathy together.

Born May 16, 1962 to loving parents Peter (Pop) and Mary (Gram), Kathy was a happy child full of energy. She spent the majority of her childhood in Newtown, Conn., playing with her siblings and friends, who were always finding their way in and out of trouble. She was the epitome of a free spirit, never constrained by society or other people’s opinions. Kathy was a shining example of generosity who would give you the shirt off of her back and never expect anything in return. She worked for the State of CT mental health system from 18 years old until she retired at 50; known for her kindness and patience with all of the clients she served. Most of all she will be remembered as a loving mother, sister, aunt, and grand(dog)mother.

Kathleen is survived by her son Steven; her siblings Terry, Patty, Mike, Ann, and Peter; and her granddogs Bamboo, Lotus, and Violet.
