Spring Book Donation Day Set For April 23 At Booth Library
Spring Book Donation Day, sponsored by the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library, has been scheduled for Sunday, April 23, rain or shine from noon to 5 pm, in the rear parking lot of C.H. Booth Library at 25 Main Street.
Volunteers will be on hand to help unload vehicles and provide tax receipts.
The Friends invite donations of new and gently-used books, as well as good-condition DVDs, CDs, video games, complete jigsaw puzzles and board games, and LPs. Materials of antiquarian interest are also appreciated.
Those planning to donate should note that the Friends cannot accept encyclopedias, outdated reference books, text books or travel guides, Time-Life Series and Reader’s Digest books, VHS tapes, magazines, or free publications.
Donated items enable the Friends to raise money for the Booth Library at the annual summer book sale (scheduled for July 7-11 at Reed Intermediate School), the December Holiday Sale, and the Friends-operated Little Book Store (open year-round near the circulation desk on the second floor of the library).
Donation Day Coordinator Denise Kaiser says Donation Day is an opportunity to donate items with minimal effort.
“Just pack up your vehicle, and our volunteers will unload it for you in the parking lot. We’ll make it as easy as possible for you to put your items to work for a worthy cause,” she said.
“To speed things up even more, please pack your donations in bags or boxes that you don’t need back,” Kaiser added.
For those unable to make it to the library on April 23, donations can be dropped off in the Friends Donation Room — opposite the elevator on the library’s lower level — any time the library is open: Monday through Thursday, 9:30 am-8 pm; Friday and Saturday, 9:30 am-5 pm; and Sunday, 12-5 pm.
