After hosting 7 o’clock evening movies for decades, Edmond Town Hall Theatre has announced what may feel like a tidal shift for local moviegoers: As of March 1, evening movies at 45 Main Street will begin at 7:30.

The change, according to ETH Business Manager Lauren DiMartino, is in response to a need for the historic building to accommodate another theater event time slot during the day.

Theater parties are taking off, according to DiMartino.

“Prior to February, we were only offering one time for theater parties, 8:30 am-12:30 pm,” she said February 22. Due to the popularity of that morning offering, “and increasing demand,” she added, the ETH Board decided to add another party time. A three-hour afternoon party, beginning at 3:30 pm, is now available as well.

“To accommodate this addition we decided to bump the evening showing to 7:30 pm,” she said.

Edmond Town Hall Theatre has not done second evening showings for over three years, prior to the onset of COVID.

The new start time for films will go into effect with the March 9-12 screenings of The Whale.

Movie tickets remain $3.50 per person.

The cost for the Morning Theater Party is $250, and Afternoon Theater Party is $325, according to DiMartino. Contact the ETH Business Manager at finance@edmondtownhall.org or 203-270-4285 extension 5 for additional information and reservations.
