Newtown Allies For Change is set to host a free viewing of episodes from the docuseries The 1619 Project on Thursday, February 9, at 6:30 pm, at Trinity Episcopal Church, 36 Main Street.

It is the second evening hosted by Newtown Allies For Change to view episodes from the series. The first evening was held on January 26, when the first three episodes of the series were viewed.

On February 9 episode four will be viewed and will be followed by a discussion of episodes three and four.

Attendees are encouraged to watch episodes one to three at home on Hulu before attending the event.

The 1619 Project is a long-form journalism endeavor developed by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Nikole Hannah-Jones, writers from The New York Times, and The New York Times Magazine which "aims to reframe the country's history by placing the consequences of slavery and the contributions of Black Americans at the very center of the United States' national narrative," according to The New York Times.

Newtown Allies For Change also set the date for the free viewing and discussion for episodes five and six for Thursday, February 23, at 6:30 pm, also at Trinity Episcopal Church.
