Marianne (Grimardi) Muskus
September 21, 1929 to January 8, 2023
Marianne Muskus of Newtown, Connecticut, passed away peacefully at Regional Hospice in Danbury on Sunday, January 8, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, two sons, one grandson, her brother, and her nephew. She is survived by one son, two grandsons, and five great-grandchildren.
Marianne was born in Chicago, moved to New York with her young family and then to Newtown, where she lived for over 50 years. Marianne worked for many years as an administrative assistant. Her last career position was in a legal group at Union Carbide, where she was admired and respected for her work.
Marianne was a parishioner of St Rose of Lima Church in Newtown and an active member of the Newtown Senior Center. She was also a member of the Town and Country Garden Club for over 25 years, two years of which she served as president. Marianne was a very active and independent lady. She loved line dancing, Zumba, yoga, and enjoyed participating in many of the activities at the Senior Center. In addition to her family, she leaves many friends and neighbors who loved her dearly. She will be missed.
A special thank you to Western CT Home Care who visited Marianne and provided services to her in her home. Each and every one of the nurses, aides, and therapists was very caring, kind, and skilled in their work.
A very special thank you to Regional Hospice, where Marianne spent the last three weeks of her life. Marianne appreciated all the caring, kind, and attentive caregivers. She was of good spirits, comfortable, and very content while under their compassionate care.
Viewing will be at Honan’s Funeral Home in Newtown from 10 to 11 am on Friday, January 13, 2023, followed by a Funeral Mass at St Joseph Catholic Church, Brookfield, Connecticut (as St Rose is temporarily closed due to renovations).
I am so very sorry to hear of Marianne’s passing. She was such a happy lady! she will be missed by all her friends at the Newtown Senior Center! Rest in peace dear Marianne.
