The Newtown-New Fairfield High School hockey team defeated visiting Wilton 5-2 at Danbury Ice Arena on December 21. The Nighthawks fell behind 1-0 and 2-1 before rallying with four straight goals. The game was tied 2-2 after one period of play and the Hawks led 3-2 heading into the third.

There were five different goal scorers for the Hawks. Jared Ku was assisted by Alex Schmidt and Ashton Albert and Schmidt, set up by Quinn Harris and Andrew Sanchez, accounted for the first-period scoring.

Ryan Anderson was set up by Schmidt in the middle stanza. Blake Ballard, assisted by Jack Albano, scored just 19 seconds into the third, and Sebastian Cilia added an unassisted net-finder to cap the scoring.
