Robert “Bobby” P. Hussian
Robert (“Bobby”) P. Hussian, 60, of Naples, Florida, died November 25th.
He fought cancer, hard. A year ago in February, he was given two months to live. Making it to his 60th birthday was a huge milestone, according to his sister.
Bobby was born February 7, 1962, in New York City, to Mary Wagner and Robert J. Hussian.
He was raised in Forest Hills Gardens, N.Y., where he lived until his sophomore year of high school. He graduated from Newtown High School in 1980, and then attended Central Connecticut State University.
Bobby worked construction in Naples for more than 30 years. He owned his own, very successful company, CJ’s Custom Wood Work.
He had a large rescue farm, filled with farm animals — donkeys, goats, sheep, tortoises, chickens, peacocks, dogs, cats, and others, all rescues. He had such an endearing spirit and loved animals. In turn they loved him and trusted him back. He would occasionally show up at a work site with a goat in tow, a baby bottle ready for the animal’s feeding and continued care.
Bob was the kind of person who would help any living thing, from helping turtles cross a four-lane highway to fixing roofs on homes adjacent to his actual work sites. He had the biggest heart in the whole world, a very high code of business ethics, and was an honest and honorable man.
To his sister, Bobby was the big protector for the first part of their life. He later became the best uncle her children could have, keeping in character whether playing Santa or Buzz Lightyear while continuing to keep a watchful eye on them.
Bobby was all about making sure everyone had a good time, and not for the recognition. He was known for his great sense of humor and a love of making others laugh.
He enjoyed fishing, and 40-plus years of Super Bowl weekend visits with a group of high school friends — the same friends with whom he played flag football on a team sponsored by The Hawley Manor many years ago. He was everyone’s best friend, always the de facto leader, a nurturer, and a stalwart friend.
He was well loved and will be missed.
Bobby is survived by his parents; stepmother Ginger Hussian; mother’s husband Ulric Sorensen; son, Max Hussian; his girlfriend, Mon Jett, and her grandson Moss; his sister and brother-in-law Liz (Hussian) and Jim Luzietti of Newtown, and their children Samantha, Devin, and Shaine; godmother Aunt Maureen Hussian; several cousins and many, many friends.
A Celebration of Life was held on November 28th at Destiny Church Barn in Naples.
His family will welcome friends on Friday, December 16th, from 4 to 8 pm, at the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street. It is hoped that there will be plenty of stories shared and laughter heard.
RIP Bob…I remember all the good times we had in high school and at Central. You were a great guy and great friend.
