Dr Dennis Normile Scott, 83, passed away peacefully at his Newtown home on Sunday, October 30, 2022.

In 2018, Dennis was predeceased by his wife of more than 30 years, Janice.

Dennis is survived by brothers Jim (Mary) and Denny Lee (Judy); step-son Todd and daughter in law Danielle; along with grandchildren Emma, Hunter, Paige, and Jonah.

Dennis was born on July 21, 1939, in Oneonta, New York. Along with three brothers, Jim, Mike, and Denny Lee, he was raised in Norwich, New York, where he graduated from Norwich High School in 1957. After earning his Doctoral Degree in Education from the University of Kansas, Dennis joined the United States Marine Corps and served from 1961 to 1967.

In 1982, while living in New Jersey, Dennis met Janice Suhar and began working in the State of Connecticut Vo-Tech School System as assistant director. In 1986, the couple married and later moved to Sandy Hook, Conn., along with their son, Todd Suhar. From 1987 until 2008 Dennis held several assistant director positions with Connecticut tech schools: Bullard Havens, Oliver Wolcott, Kaynor, and Abbott Tech.

In retirement, Dennis was active in Christ The King Lutheran Church. He enjoyed a love for fitness, dogs, and spending time with family.

Family and friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown on Friday, November 4, from 10 to 11 am. A short service will immediately follow and interment will take place thereafter in Newtown Village Cemetery.
