Longtime resident of Newtown, Connecticut, Patricia Webster Laurans died at the age of 83 on October 8, 2022. She was the daughter of Ann Vondele (Rudnick) and Raymond Theodore Laurans of Providence, Rhode Island.

She is survived by Jacqueline Adams, her partner of 42 years; by her sister, Lynne Levinson, and her husband, Dan, their two sons, Andrew and Matthew Levinson, and their wives and children; and by her sister, Lisa Bob, and her husband, Edward O’Rourke, and children, Catherine Bye, Ariane Torres, and Benjamin Boult and their families.

Pat was a guidance counselor in the Brookfield, Connecticut, school system and then retired to follow her passion of judging dogs. She judged both throughout the United States and internationally. She was a much loved and respected judge who helped and mentored many people. Pat was a founder of the Take the Lead charitable foundation and of the American Kennel Club’s Canine Pet Disaster Relief Trailer program. She also served on the board of directors of the American Kennel Club and as chairperson of its Parent Club Committee. She was awarded the American Kennel Club Lifetime Achievement Award in 2017. Her biggest and most important achievement of all was the love and admiration of so many students, friends, and contemporaries.
