James “Jim” T. Juliano, Newtown resident and beloved husband of Nancy, passed away October 12, 2022, after a long illness. Jim was born in Bridgeport, Conn., and was the son of the late Clara and Ted Juliano.

Jim was raised in Stratford and was a graduate of Bunnell High School. His apprenticeship as a steamfitter began just days after his high school graduation. It culminated with his retirement as a business manager of Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 777, having served in various union positions throughout the years. He loved his “trade” and was dedicated to improving working conditions and fair labor practices.

Jim was the ultimate volunteer having been involved in many organizations, including United Way of Fairfield County, Newtown Democratic Town Committee serving as its chairman, Habitat for Humanity, Edmond Town Hall Board of Managers, and both Bridgeport and Danbury Labor Councils.

In addition to his wife, Jim is survived by his brother Mark and daughter Chelsea, sister Theresa, niece Lisa (Angelo) and family, sister-in-law Sandy, as well as nephews Matt (Beth) and family and Greg (Phet) and family.

The family is most appreciative to RVNAHealth of Ridgefield for their support in Jim’s journey: Tami, Garrett, Gena, and especially Yhon who greeted him every morning with a smile and left everyday having them say to each other “Hasta la vista.”

Donations in Jim’s memory may be given to RVNAHealth/Hospice online at rvnahealth.org or by mail to 27 Governor Street, Ridgefield CT 06877.

Friends may call at Honan Funeral Home, 58 Main Street, Newtown, on Sunday, October 16, from 2 to 5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 17, at 10:30 am in St Rose of Lima Church, Newtown. Interment will follow in St Rose Cemetery.
