CHESHIRE — Judith B. Burns, 95, passed away Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Maplewood at Newtown in Newtown. She was the wife of the late Robert J. Burns. Judy was born April 28, 1927, in Waterbury, Conn., daughter of the late Richard J. and Elizabeth (Fitzgerald) Boyle. She was a retired Cheshire elementary school teacher.

Judy leaves behind her sons, Robert J. Burns, Jr, and his wife, Cathy, of Terryville, Conn.; Patrick J. Burns and his wife, Nancy, of Winston Salem, N.C.; Matthew F. Burns and his wife, Jennifer, of Newtown, Conn.; and her daughters, Mary Jane Burns and her husband, Greg Little, of Kiawah Island, S.C.; and Ann B. Cannon and her husband, John, of Waldwick, NJ. She will also be missed by her nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Judy was predeceased by her sister, Mary Jane Boyle.

Arrangements: A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, October 15, 2022, at 10 am at St Bridget of Sweden Parish-St Bridget Church, 175 Main Street, Cheshire. Burial will follow in St Bridget Cemetery. Friends may greet her family at the Alderson-Ford Funeral Home of Cheshire, 615 South Main Street, on Friday evening, October 14, 2022, from 5 to 7 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to The Cheshire Community Food Pantry, PO Box 457, Cheshire CT 06410.
