FILING DEADLINEPursuant to Section 12-40 of theConnecticut General Statutes, notice is hereby given that allpersons conducting business in the Town of Newtown must file withthe Assessor's Office a complete and accurate listing of all taxablepersonal property used in the conduct of that business.Such filing is to take place onor before November 1, 2022. Persons failing to file by that dateare subject to a 25% penalty added to their assessment. Anextension of 45 days may be granted for good cause upon request.Taxable personal property shallinclude (but is not limited to); unregistered motor vehicles, out ofstate registered motor vehicles, industrial machinery/equipment,commercial furniture/fixtures/equipment, data processing equipment,farm machinery/equipment, horses, leased equipment, etc.If you require forms or needassistance in filing your report, please contact the Assessor'sOffice at 203-270-4240.
