Newtown Parks & Recreation has announced early closures of the town's two public swimming locations Wednesday, August 10, ahead of a lifeguard appreciation event.

Eichler’s Cove beach will close at 5:45 pm.

Treadwell Pool will close at 6 pm.

Regular hours this time of the year are Monday through Friday, 11 am-7 pm; and Saturday and Sunday, 9 am-7 pm.

Both locations are expected to reopen at their regular time Thursday morning.
