Newtown Hearts of Hope invites the public to its next Summer Series 2022 “Paint With a Purpose” event for 911 emergency operators, scheduled for Wednesday, July 20, from 6-8 pm, at Aquila’s Nest Vineyard, 56 Pole Bridge Road in Sandy Hook.

The July event is the second of three this summer dedicated to sending messages of love and support to the first voices heard when anyone calls 911: emergency dispatchers. Help create hope by painting a small ceramic heart and writing a message of love and support to be included in “Boxes of Love” care packages sent by Newtown’s 911 operators to other dispatchers across the country.

Maureen Will, director of Newtown Emergency Communications Center, has spearheaded the care package program. She will speak at each of the summer events about the important role of emergency operators and how we can help support these heroes in their own healing process.

The Newtown Hearts of Hope Summer Series began with June’s Paint event at Reverie Brewing Company.

The final event will be at NewSylum Brewing Company on Wednesday, August 17, 6-8 pm.

Hearts are $10 each to paint with a special message of hope, and the price includes all supplies. Paint with a Purpose events are family friendly.

For those unable to attend any of our summer events, hearts may be ordered online at ourheartsofhope.org/shop. Local orders may be picked up at Newtown Community Center, 8 Simpson Street. Use the coupon code LOCAL to waive shipping costs. Families and organizations may also host their own event.

Email newtown@ourheartsofhope.org for more information.
