Rock Ridge Country Club golf results from this past week are as follows:
Menâs Premier ABCD Tournament
Rock Ridge Country Clubâs Two Day ABCD Championship is its premier team event of the year. This yearâs tourney was exciting as the final two teams were separated by a single stroke after 36 holes of golf.
With the course set up under difficult conditions, the team of Sean Patrick, Vincent Palumbo, Cary Kortze and Matt Klein, were able to turn in an astonishing 16 under par score after the first day, giving them a 4 stroke lead over the field. However, the team was only able to shoot 2 under par on the second day, finishing second at a combined 18 under for the weekend. The first place team consisted of Mike Portnoy, Tim Rahr, Tony Cirone and Jack Duffy, who turned in a score of 12 under par on the first day, and a 7 under par score the second day, finishing at a combined 19 under par for the weekend.
Ladies Solheim Cup
The ladies at Rock Ridge formed teams of 10 to compete for this yearâs Solheim Cup. They played two matches in a scramble and pinehurst format, in teams of two, while earning points for a victory.Â
The years winner was the Stone team, which earned 6 points in the pinehurst competition, and 7.5 points in the scramble competition, for a combined 13.5 points. The Midnight Team finished close behind with 11 points.          Â
