Newtown police are seeking anyone who may have witnessed a collision on Mt Pleasant Road at the intersection of Sawmill Road earlier this morning.

Newtown Police report Karen Harris, 62, of Newtown, operating a 2014 Toyota Rav4, was making a left turn onto Mt Pleasant Road from Sawmill Road at 6:06 am May 4. Helder Chunir-Remache, 50, of Danbury, operating a 2016 Toyota Highlander, was traveling southbound on Mt Pleasant Road.

Chunir-Remache's vehicle struck Harris's vehicle front end to left rear fender.

Hawleyville Volunteer Fire Company and Newtown Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the scene.

The accident is currently under investigation. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision is asked to contact Newtown Police Department at 203-426-5841.
