Newtown Bridle Lands Association Holds First Show And Go Trail Ride Of The Season
The Newtown Bridle Lands Association (NBLA) hosted its first Show and Go of the season on April 23. A Show and Go is a group ride to introduce members to horse-friendly trails. The first one was in Huntington Park in Redding. Two groups headed out: A walk only group for those who wanted a mellow ride or were a little less experienced in trail riding. The second group was the fast group and enjoyed lots of trotting and some judicious cantering when the trail conditions allowed it.
The entire group gathered afterwards at a member’s nearby house for an outdoor lunch. NBLA board member Kimberly Chabot said she couldn’t imagine a better way to honor Earth Day than by being on a horse deep in the woods surrounded by Mother Nature. There are many more activities planned this year. An individual membership is $45 annually. Visit nblact.com for details.
