The Friends of Edmond Town Hall is planning an afternoon of music by The Argyle Saxophone Quartet on Sunday, April 10, 2022, at 2 pm.

The performance will be in the Alexandria Room of Edmond Town Hall, 45 Main Street.

Tickets are $10 each, payable by cash or credit card at the door.

Friends who have been performing together for at least the past ten years, The Argyle Sax Quartet features Julia Gerace, Donna Schmardle, Rick Myers and David Glassman. The group’s repertoire includes everything from French contemporary to jazz, pop, and everything in between.

Julia Brunelle, co-chair of Friends of Edmond Town Hall said, “We are excited to host a Sunday afternoon instrumental concert in the beautiful Alexandria Room. There has been limited live music programming available locally not only due to Covid, but specifically during afternoons for those who prefer not to go out in the evenings. We hope this will be the first of many similar events for a different audience.”

Proceeds from the concert support the Friends of Edmond Town Hall (FOETH), whose mission statement is “committed to bringing arts and humanities programming and events to the community at large while maintaining the historic Edmond Town Hall.”

The Friends recently rebranded from the former Mary Hawley Society. The town hall, completed in 1931 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was a gift from Newtown benefactress Mary Hawley.

FOETH is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit. It is reportedly working on additional fundraising events, according to a press release issued in March following the rebranding.

Looking for something to do Sunday afternoon? The Argyle Saxophone Quartet plans to offer selections from it very wide-ranging repertoire during a performance at Edmond Town Hall.
