Business name: Hangry Hare

Address: Based in Newtown

Owner: Krutarth Mehta

What is your business background? I was an executive chef on Block Island. I liked how the vibe was getting to know locals, as well as how to get the produce and meats to the restaurant. When I came back to Newtown in October, I realized I don’t want to work for someone when I can create my own business. I had a business plan and idea of what I wanted to do, so I took a few months off, then started Hangry Hare. The business officially opened mid-February 2022.

What is your business’ focus? I do in home private chef catering. I also do meal kit programs and cooking classes. It’s a one stop shop. I base the food to their taste, including if they have allergies.

What is something important to you that readers know about your business? I would like people to know that Hangry Hare is a new style of cuisine. It is a company that is going to be creating a culture where it is easy for people and foodies to connect. It also is a simple way of having high-end food delivered, catered, and cooked right at your house. It offers a nice experience whether you have a day off or are having a date night.
