‘The Healing Power Of Herbs,’ With Andrea Candee
Master herbalist Andrea Candee will be the guest speaker for The Town & Country Garden Club on Wednesday, March 9, at Newtown Senior Center, 8 Simpson Street.
The club will begin its evening with a general meeting at 6 pm. Candee’s presentation will begin at 7.
Guests will learn that our great-grandmothers were wiser than we thought. They were self-reliant, and knew how to make use of what was around them.
Guests on March 9 will find out how versatile produce and herbs can be, and gain new respect for the lowly onion, over-ripe banana, stinky garlic, burning hot cayenne peppers, and chamomile tea.
Guest speaker Andrea Candee is an instructor for the New York Botanical Garden and the author of Gentle Healing for Baby and Child (Simon & Schuster).
She is a master herbalist with a practice in South Salem, N.Y. Her practice incorporates a three-pronged protocol: vibrational medicine, herbs, and eating for wellness.
She lectures at New York Botanical Garden and across the country at corporate wellness centers, inspiring people to take charge of their health with an alternative approach to antibiotics and over-the-counter medication.
Town & Country evening programs are free and the public is welcome. Reservations are not needed.
The Town & Country Garden Club designs, plants, and maintains the three traffic islands on Queen Street and Glover Avenues. Members are also active in many community endeavors that promote sound gardening practices.
