To the Editor:

Recognition is in order for the Friends of the C.H. Booth Library whose continual and untiring efforts are a constant and powerful cost-savings resource for the community. The Friends fund technology, educative programs, books and library materials, and databases like Ancestry.com and CreativeBug (online video arts and crafts workshops and techniques) that the library would not otherwise be able to offer.

Like many individual and corporate donors, the Friends understand that the library is not just a building full of books but a living, breathing agency that responds to patrons in myriad ways.

With the huge fundraising effort of the annual book sale — scheduled for July 8 to Tuesday, July 12 — and smaller efforts such as holiday boutiques, the Friends are of consistent benefit and savings to the community and make Newtown a better place.
